New single cover

Here is a first look at the new single cover for “Jag har dig nu”. This is only a low quality version and hopefully a higher quality one will become available.

“Jag har dig nu” is written by Andreas Mattsson and is one of the three newly composed songs for the album. The song has been described as a feverish meeting between two lovers.

New single

“Jag har dig nu”, the duet with Izabella, will be the first single from Peter’s French project, “Livet, kärleken och döden”.

The song goes to Swedish radio today and will be available to buy digitally on 7 October 2011.

You can hear a 40 second clip from the song at Peter’s official site. It is the first song on the music player.

Duet with Izabella

At Peter’s official site, a 40 second clip from one of the songs from Peter’s French album has been added to the music player. The song is called “Jag har dig nu” (literal translation = “I have you now”) and is a duet with Izabella Scorupco (pictured above). Izabella is a singer/actress and is possibly best known for being a Bond girl in the movie “Goldeneye”. Izabella released an album in the 90s and had a hit with the song “I Write You A Lovesong”.

“Jag har dig nu” is the first song on the player and can be heard on both the Swedish and English versions of www.peterjoback.com.

Peter breaks cover

The cover for Peter’s new album “Livet, kärleken och döden” has been unveiled.

Album title, release date and another song…

Peter’s official site has revealed that Peter’s new album will be called “Livet, Kärleken och Döden – La Vie, L’Amour, La Mort…” which is the Swedish and French for “Life, Love and Death”.

The album will be released on 19 October 2011.

The front page of the Swedish version of Peter’s official site has a video of one of the songs from the album. The song is called “Jackie” and is a new version of “La Chanson de Jacky” written by Jacques Brel and made famous by Scott Walker in 1967. Marc Almond also had a hit with it in 1991.

Click here to see the video.

Apart from “Jackie” and “Precis som vanligt”, the album will include three original songs written in a French style.

Here is a clip of Scott Walker performing “Jackie” on a TV show.

And this is the promo video for Marc Almond’s version.

Rocket To The Moon – rare song

“Rocket To The Moon” is a song that was written by Peter Jöback and Ty Lacey. It was only available for one week back in November 2000 as a “bonus track” with Peter’s “Tonight” single. Essentially, you put the disc into your computer and you could listen to the song via the internet. After seven days, the chance to listen to the song expired. There was no chance to download it.

It did find its way as a b-side to Peter’s “Higher” single but this was only in Poland.

You can now hear the song again via a fan video on Daily Motion. It’s a good song and deserves a wider audience.

“Räddaren i nöden” gets a physical release

Peter’s latest single finally gets a physical release – of sorts.

“Räddaren i nöden” is to be included on the new compilation “Absolute Summer Hits 2011” due to be released in Sweden on 15 June 2011.

The full tracklist can be seen here.

Peter working on a new album – “La vie, l’amour, la mort”

Peter mentioned on his blog on the official site last week that he was in the studio working on a new project. More details have now been released.

It will be an album of French songs that have been specially translated into Swedish by Annika Norlen (aka Säkert) and Andreas Mattsson, and arranged by Hans Ek. There will also be some newly written songs included.

The album has the working title “La vie, l’amour, la mort” which is French for “Life, love, death”. It is expected to be out in September or October this year.
