Livet är en schlager extended, cast recording, TV special

LIvet-är-en-schlager-pressLots of news about “Livet är en schlager” courtesy of a press release.

The show has been extended again by a further 48 performances taking it up to 25 April 2015. Tickets for these extra performances go on sale at 9am on Friday 21 November 2014.

Also on Friday, the first single from the upcoming cast recording will be released to radio. “När jag faller” (When I fall) is a duet with Peter Jöback and Helen Sjöholm. There are no further details about the release of the cast recording yet.

On Saturday 22 November 2014, a TV documentary taking you behind the scenes of the show will be broadcast on SVT1 at 16:50.  “Livet är en Schlager – och hårt arbete” (Life is a pop song – and hard work) will also be available on SVT Play.

New song from “Livet är en schlager” performed on Swedish TV

allsangscreengrabOn 12 August 2014, Peter and Helen appeared on the popular TV show Allsång på Skansen, and performed a song from the upcoming musical, “Livet är en schlager”. The song is called “Som skapta för varann”.

The clip is still available for viewing at SVT Play. Click on the image above to be able to see it. It will be available until 11 September 2014.


Peter Jöback to perform at the Tony Awards

broadwayPeter Jöback and Samantha Hill will perform the title song from “Phantom of the Opera” at the 67th Tony Awards this Sunday, 9 June 2013. This is to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the show on Broadway.

Peter performs “Music of the Night” at Melodifestivalen

pjmf2012At last night’s second chance final of Melodifestivalen, Peter performed “Music of the Night” as one of the intermission acts. It is a powerful performance and can be seen at the SVT website for the next month.

Peter performs at Världens Barn Gala

Peter performed at Världens Barn on 12 October 2012. This is a humanitarian gala to raise money for children around the world. Peter performed two songs – “Music of the Night” from “Phantom of the Opera” and Luck Be A Lady” from “Guys and Dolls”, no doubt a taste of his I Love Musicals tour due to kick off later this month.

Peter’s TV series still available to watch online

Peter’s TV series “Med hjartat som insats” is still available to watch online at SVT’s website but only until 24 February 2012 so be quick if you haven’t already watched it.

Peter sings “Masquerade”

SVTPlay has this clip of Peter performing “Masquerade” at the Birdland Jazz Club in New York. It is a bonus clip only available on the internet and not shown as part of the TV series.

“The Start of Something Grand” – a brand new single from Peter Jöback

Peter released a brand new single on iTunes this week and it’s in English. The song is called “The Start of Something Grand” and is written by Andreas Mattson. It is being released to coincide with Peter’s TV series “Med hjärtat som insats”.

In the first episode of the TV series, Peter has the opportunity to sing at the legendary jazz club Birdland in New York. The song he performs is “The Start of Something Grand”, which he only gets just before his performance.

A new Peter TV series – “Med hjärtat som insats”

Peter stars in a new three part TV series which sees him travelling to New York, Paris and Berlin, retracing the footsteps of his musical idols.

The series is called “Med hjärtat som insats” which translates roughly as “From the heart” or “With the heart as a guide”.

The first episode was broadcast this week on SVT on Wednesday. In this episode, Peter travels to New York and meets such people as Frank Sinatra’s granddaughter. He also chats and jams with some of Sinatra’s musicians. The episode is available on SVTPlay and can be watched up until 24 February 2012.

Peter’s short film to be screened on TV

Peter’s short film will be screened on Swedish TV on Thursday 22 December 2011. It will screen on TV4 at 23:00 under the title “Peter Jöback – sången om mitt franska liv”.
